The First Meeting:
Shahid Kappor and Mira Rajput met for the first time through a mutual family friend, who suggested their alliance. They had an arranged marriage set-up, which meant they barely knew each other before deciding to tie the knot. However, their first conversation lasted for seven hours, and they felt an instant connection.

Shahid recalled the moment he fell in love with Mira in an interview with Vogue India. He said, “The only thought going through my mind was, ‘Here we are, sitting in this room on these two big sofas with nobody else around.. Are we even going to last 15 minutes?’” He added, “We were at a friends’ farmhouse in Delhi. We went for a walk outside and the sun was setting behind her. I realised her eyes were not dark. They had a hazel tinge. That moment, I felt shayad main iss ladki se shaadi kar sakta hoon. But I also told myself, ‘What are you thinking? Bees saal ki hai besharam!'”

Mira, on the other hand, was not a fan of Shahid’s movies or his scruffy look from Kaminey. She said, “I’ve never been into movies, which I think was a good thing because following that first chat, when we actually got to know each other, it was for who we are…not for who others think we are.”

The Wedding:
Shahid and Mira tied the knot in a private ceremony in Delhi on July 7, 2015, in the presence of close friends and family members. Their intimate wedding was followed by a grand reception in Mumbai, where Mira was introduced to the film fraternity members.

The wedding was a hush-hush but lavish affair, and the fans got glimpses of their big day through photos and videos that made their way online. The couple looked stunning in their outfits designed by Anamika Khanna and Kunal Rawal. They also had a quirky hashtag for their wedding: #ShahidKiShaadi.

The Parenthood:
Shahid and Mira became parents to their first child, daughter Misha, on August 26, 2016. They named her after combining their own names. Shahid announced her birth on Twitter with a sweet message: “She has arrived and words fall short to express our happiness. Thank you for all your wishes.”

They welcomed their second child, son Zain, on September 5, 2018. Shahid again took to Twitter to share the news: “Zain Kapoor is here and we feel complete. Thank you for all the wishes and blessings. We are overjoyed and so grateful. Love to all.”

The couple often shares adorable pictures and videos of their kids on social media, giving us major family goals. They also celebrate festivals and occasions together with much love and joy.

The Challenges:
Like any married couple, Shahid and Mira have had their share of ups and downs. They have faced challenges such as age gap, cultural differences, media scrutiny and busy schedules. However, they have always supported each other and overcome them with grace and maturity.

Shahid once revealed that his fights with Mira can last 15 days, but they always talk it out. He said, “I usually get flustered when my wife and I have a fight. It bothers me, and I take time to get over it. It’s once in a couple of months, but when we do fight, but ours lasts a long time… You know it [the tension] is there, and you finally talk it out.”

Mira also opened up about how she adjusted to the limelight after marrying Shahid. She said, “I am very comfortable in my own skin… I don’t feel the need to change who I am or how I am just because now I have cameras pointed at me.”

The Love

Despite their busy schedule  they feel shy away from expressing their love for each other on social media or in public. They often post cute selfies, romantic captions and heartfelt wishes for each other. They also compliment each other’s work and achievements.
